Steel W-beam Guardrail is a semi-rigid safety barrier made of galvanized steel, designed to absorb impact energy and redirect errant vehicles on highways and roads, thereby reducing accident severity.

All US Barricades® Guardrails are made in the United States and manufactured to meet or exceed standards such as AASHTO M-180 and MASH (Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware) specifications, ensuring certified safety performance.

• Material: High-quality US Steel, such as Q235 or Q345 (equivalent to ASTM A283M or A529M).
• Surface Treatment: Typically hot-dip galvanized (zinc coated) or Corton to ensure high resistance to corrosion and rust, offering a long service life.
• Standard Length: Common lengths are 13 feet 6.5 inches overall, providing a 12 feet 6 inches "lay length" or effective length between post centers.
• W-Beams Gauge: The primary horizontal steel rails, typically 12-gauge (approx. 2.67 mm) or 10-gauge (approx. 3.42 mm) thick.
• Containment: Prevents vehicles from leaving the road, crossing into oncoming traffic, or striking fixed objects like bridge piers or trees.
